Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes

Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early for class.  Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music.  We do request that toys, juice cups, and pacifiers be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class.  If you must feed your child (with the exception of nursing and bottle feeding), please do so in the lobby.  Be sure to dress comfortably (caregiver and child).  Parents should bring a blanket for all children 12 months and younger for use during class.

During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model.  It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class.  Don?t be discouraged?what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class.  The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home is key to facilitating musical learning and growth.

I love for parents to visit with one another before or after class, but not during class time, please!  When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully too.

You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials.  Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child?s comfort and participation in the classroom.

Free Visits

At certain times throughout each session, I am happy to schedule a free visit in one of my classes.  Please call for availability.

Register Early/Pro-rated Tuition

Although you may join our classes at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited and to ensure your home materials are ordered before the start of class.  If you enroll after the semester begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly.

Registration

Registration must be completed online before the first day of class.  In order for you to receive materials the first day of class, you must pay your deposit at least two weeks before the start of class.  Payment of the tuition balance is due the first day of class.

Refunds

Tuition refunds or credit vouchers may be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class.   All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis.  The cost of materials and a $10 processing fee are non-refundable.

Make-up Classes

Your commitment and consistency in coming to class is vital for your child to receive the most benefit from Kindermusik.  Each family is allotted 3 make-up classes for 15 week sessions and 2 for 8/10 week sessions to be completed by the end of the semester.  Credits and refunds will not be given for any unattended classes or for an unfinished semester (except for extenuating circumstances). You are financially responsible for the entire class tuition amount and any home materials that you requested or ordered.  To schedule a make-up class, please call NeShea at 321-287-8413.

Disruptive Behavior

Children make all kinds of sounds during the class. We call it vocalizing. However, if the child is really upset and is distracting the class, your teacher may ask you to take him/her outside for a hug and some reassurance and come back in as soon as she/he is ready.  Please do not hesitate to ask questions if you are unsure what to do when your child is upset.  We have all been there!

Health and Safety

If your child is running a fever of 100 or higher, please refrain from bringing him/her to class.  All toys and instruments are regularly cleaned with a diluted bleach solution and antibacterial wipes.  Please feel free to clean any instruments or toys as needed or as you see fit.  Antibacterial wipes are available for your convenience.  Hand sanitizer is also available and encouraged to be used by you and your child upon entering and leaving class.
